I made this lemon drizzle/Icing to go with the blueberry scones that I made from sallysbakingaddiction for my book review of Black Hat White Witch.
I based this recipe on sallysbakingaddiction’s vanilla icing. I thought her recipe was so simple and easy to do. There was only one problem, it’s a recipe for vanilla icing and I needed lemon icing. So I had the idea to mix sallysbakingaddiction with fortheloveofcooking’s recipe to come up with my own.
Lemon Drizzle
Ingredients
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp lemon zest
- 2 tbsp milk
Instructions
- Whisk the powdered sugar, lemon zest, and lemon juice together.
- Add the milk one tbsp at a time until it is thin enough to drizzle over the scones. If too thick add more lemon juice/milk.
My Thoughts:
This recipe was a success. It took a bit of tweaking to get the right consistency. The good thing about this recipe is that you can add more lemon juice/lemon zest depending on how tart you want the drizzle to be.
Give this lemon drizzle/icing a try and let me know what you think.
